01.07.21: Ukraine International Airlines reports that the forced delays of charter flights to Antalya (scheduled departure on the night of July 1, 2021) are due to a severe seasonal increase in the number of flights, as well as the resumption of Turkish flights to Russia, which significantly complicated slot regulation. As a result, Turkey's aviation regulator was unable to process flight requests in advance.

Unfortunately, under such circumstances, the delays had affected charter flights Kyiv - Antalya, Kharkiv - Antalya and Lviv - Antalya. The carrier and the aviation regulator of Turkey are doing everything possible to quickly resume UIA's charter flights to Antalya during the day.

At present, the air carrier provides all necessary assistance to passengers of delayed flights. In particular, all those who had to fly from Kyiv, Kharkiv and Lviv were provided food. Passengers waiting to return to Kyiv in the opposite direction from Turkey were partially transported to hotels, provided food and transfer. They will depart on the next flight, as soon as the situation is resolved. UIA, together with tour operators, is working to ensure that passengers feel the necessary care and receive services required in such cases.

UIA notes that during the summer season 2021, given the limited opportunities for flights to European countries, the attention of Ukrainian tourists, in particular, is focused on the resorts of Turkey. Thus, for comparison, in June 2019 UIA made 202 charter flights to Turkey, in 2020 - 166, and in June 2021 - 505 flights. We should also take into account the increase in the number of flights to Turkey and a number of other countries, such trends have caused unexpected complications on the route.
